The bed and pillows provided a comfortable night's rest, allowing for a decent sleep despite the surroundings. Free coffee supplies saved the day for those prepared, thanks to the kettle in the room.
Limited hot water was a frequent issue during the stay. The cleanliness left much to be desired, with no room service or fresh towels even after three nights. Plus, the exterior looked run-down and off-putting, making initial impressions quite bleak.

During my stay, I was exploring the nearby Pembroke Castle and found that the location offered great convenience. The room was clean and comfortable, featuring a kettle that came in handy for making tea after a long day. I appreciated the good electric shower and the size of the bathroom, which provided a nice touch of comfort. having free parking made my trip even easier.

My stay at Middlegate was quite a mix of positives and a few downsides. The location shone as it sat right in the center of Pembroke with free parking, making everything from restaurants to the nearby castle easily accessible. I appreciated the lovely, clean room with a comfortable bed that ensured a restful sleep, especially since mine was located at the back, away from the traffic noise. Peter, the owner, was genuinely friendly throughout my stay, demonstrating a personal touch that really made a difference. Breakfast was a highlight, with freshly cooked options that were both plentiful and tasty. the limited check-in window posed an inconvenience, making it tricky if guests had tight travel schedules. a kettle in the room was handy, but there weren’t any supplied tea or coffee items, which would have been a welcomed addition. There were moments when I noted the downstairs areas felt quite dated and could use some refreshing to match the cleanliness of the rooms. All said, I felt at home here despite the minor issues.

the middlegate hotel was a pretty nice spot for my walking holiday. clean bed linen and towels made for a comfy stay. the shower in my private bathroom was really good too. free parking was a great plus and it’s located right in the middle of pembroke, close to cafes and pubs. peter was super friendly and helped me feel welcome.
only downside was that the place seemed a bit dated and could use some sprucing up. also, it would have been better if there were some tea and coffee supplies in the room.

clean bathroom, generous shower size, good electric shower unit
The building needs a serious makeover!!! Stale smells linger throughout the common areas, and check-in hours leave little flexibility for arriving guests!!! A lack of provided tea and coffee sets makes the kettle somewhat pointless.

Great hosts and a cozy stay
I had a lovely stay, and the hosts, Peter and Hailey, really made it special. My room was cozy with a large double bed, and the breakfast every morning was a fantastic start to the day. The location is perfect for exploring Pembroke and enjoying the local nightlife on open mic nights. Just a bit of sprucing up on the common areas would enhance the overall experience.

would definitely return
The single room had a private bathroom with clean towels and good toiletries. Electric kettle was handy for tea and coffee. The flat-screen TV offered cable channels and streaming services. The comfy bed had both feather and non-feather pillows. The owner Pete was really helpful. Location was perfect, right in the heart of town.

It was just a proper fit for a concise stay in Pembroke with exceptional value. The breakfast was so grim we gave up and ate down the road. Bring your own drinks for the kettle to enjoy during your stay.
